Want to make a difference in the community, meet new people and have fun all at the same time? Then Douglas County Fair & Rodeo is looking for you! Douglas County Fair & Rodeo would not be the well-run success that it is today without the vision, dedication and hard work of its volunteers. All volunteers will receive a general admission pass for the entire fair, volunteer t-shirt, name badge, training and invitation to a special volunteer appreciation event.

Information Booth Ambassador
Helping patrons find activities and events throughout the entire complex and answering questions. You are provided a book with maps and vendor details and other pieces of information that may be needed to guide our guests. If you like to visit with people and help them to find their destinations, answer questions and just have a fun time, this is the area for you. Qualifications: Must be outgoing.
Ticket Taker Ambassador
Scanning or verifying tickets. Ticket Taker volunteers must be outgoing, friendly and able to comfortably offer guests assistance. They also must become knowledgeable about various aspects of the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo, particularly in the areas of tickets and admittance. Qualifications: Must have ability to stand for extended periods at a time (although chairs should be available), endure varying temperatures, and move between various entry points.
Livestock Sale Facilities Help
Setting up, taking down and cleaning up livestock show and sale area. Need to be physically able to handle livestock panels – work clothes, long pants and gloves required. Great workout!
Qualifications: Need to be physically able to lift and move up to 70 pounds, no allergies to hay or livestock. Training provided.
Greeter Ambassador/Gate Help
Directing Fair attendees to the ticket booths and entrance points in order to keep crowd traffic moving in an orderly manner especially during rush periods. Volunteers need to be knowledgeable about different ticket options to direct people to the proper areas and be knowledgeable about the overall main events for the day. Qualifications: Assertive, proactive and helpful. Must have ability to stand for extended periods at a time.
Event & Entertainment Help
Assisting with various event setups and operation like Mutton Bustin and Stick Horse Rodeo. Also meets entertainers and directs them to the stage area and helps them with setup. Need to be helpful and able to take direction.
Shuttle Driver Ambassador
Driving the 6-seater cart on the designated shuttle route for guests who need a ride. Should be mature, outgoing, helpful and good with people plus knowledgeable about the fair activities. Guest safety is a priority. Qualifications: helpful, patient attitude, safe operator. This is for adult volunteers age 21 or older and a special training session is required, as well as a valid Driver’s License.
