2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Royalty

Rylee Bernier

2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Queen

It’s Fair & Rodeo time!My name is Rylee Bernier, I’m eighteen years old and reside in Castle Rock, Colorado with my parents Stephen and Heidi and siblings Raven, Mathew and Seth. While I did not grow up on a ranch, I always dreamt of owning land for my horses to roam.

Even as a little girl, I dreamed of being a horsewoman and having my very own horse. Through hard work and dedication, my dream was realized when I found Kryptonite, an Off the Track Thoroughbred. As time went by, I have been able to turn him into my western horse and eventually a Rodeo Queen horse to use for Douglas County Fair & Rodeo. We continue to grow together and make a great team.

While taking care of a horse and being a part of Douglas County Royalty, I am attending Arapahoe Community College working towards a degree in marketing and animal science nutrition. I hope to utilize my skills and education working for a company focused on animal nutrition. With my strong faith in God and support of my family, I am confident that my dreams will come to true!

Kryptonite and I hope to see you all at the 102nd Douglas County Fair & Rodeo July 30-August 2 with 4-H Exhibits, Shows and local events July 25 – July 31 and our Xtreme Bulls and ProRodeo events July 30 – August 2.Visit FairandRodeoFun.com for more information!

Samantha Witt

2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess

Hello Everyone! My name is Samantha Witt; I am honored and excited to serve as the 2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess. I am 16 years old and a sophomore at Castle View High School. I live with my parents Max and Becky Witt, along with my little brother Max and we live in Castle Rock with my three dogs and two cats. When my family and I have free time, besides riding horses, you can find us in the mountains riding dirt bikes on the trails. My dad, brother and I also like to archery hunt for big game in our beautiful mountains. I would like to thank my family for helping me pursue my passion for livestock as well as my passion for the outdoors. Their support is endless!

I have been a member of 4-H for 7 years, participating in horses, market sheep, rabbits, and market beef. In the horse project I have won Grand Champion english in my age group and Reserve Champion gymkhana. I also have shown market beef since 2017, this year my steer’s name is George. My favorite part of 4-H has been the leadership activities in my club where I have served as treasurer, Vice President and am now President.

My Three horses are Ringo, a 15-year-old bay roan quarter horse, Pi a 3-year-old chestnut quarter horse and Blue a 19-year-old palomino quarter horse. We participate in shows and events outside of 4-H, such as the Douglas County Buckle Series, where Ringo and I won Grand Champion 2018. We also show Parker Trail Riders and some open Reining and Working Ranch Horse Shows. Ringo is my do everything and anything horse. My other horse Blue is my speed event horse; he has placed me in several gymkhana events over the years. Pi is just a baby and we have been working on western pleasure. I hope to be showing her at fair this year. You can find all of us riding at numerous events in Colorado and of course at The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.

The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo has an extremely fun and action-packed year ahead and I am excited to be an ambassador for my hometown rodeo. There is something for everyone at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo, from bucking bulls to carnival games, and never a dull moment. Ringo, Blue, Pi and I cannot wait to see you with 4-H exhibits and local events July 26 through August 2 and George and I (hopefully) will see you at the best Junior livestock sale Friday July 31.And of course, don’t miss out on our Xtreme Bulls and three ProRodeo events July 30-Aug 2!

Shelby Schroder

2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Queen ATTENDANT

Hello! My name is Shelby Schroeder and I’m honored to serve as your 2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Queen Attendant. This will be my third year representing Douglas County, previously as the 2016 Princess Attendant, and as the 2017 Princess. I am 16 years old and currently attend Colorado Early Colleges as a junior, with plans to graduate high school with my High School Diploma and an Associates in Business. My twin brother, Preston, and parents, Don & Julie Schroeder are huge supporters and I’m beyond thankful for the support they provide both on my journey and in my passion for the sport of rodeo. Our family includes my four horses, four dogs, five cats, and a goat! Jlo is my seven-year-old mare that you will see me riding throughout the year in parades and rodeos.

Blessed to be riding since the age of two, horses have become a very large part of my life and have developed into a true passion of mine. Active in 4-H, I compete in the horse project as a level three western rider and a level one english rider. My equine partners and I also compete in events such as ranch horse, western, english, and gymkhana within the 4-H horse project, and in other local shows where we’ve won numerous awards throughout the years. I also enjoy being able to participate in the artistic clothing 4-H project, where I am able to add new style to my clothing, and this past year won Best in Show and Grand Champion, and Reserve Champion at State Fair for my project. Spreading the word about the sport of rodeo, agriculture, and the western way of life is another passion of mine and in the future, I would also like to be able to compete in the National Reined Cow Horse Association. Outside of royalty and horse activities I enjoy riding dirt bikes, spending quality time with friends and family, and arts and crafts.

With a very busy and exciting year ahead representing Douglas County, I am looking forward to sharing my love for the western lifestyle with everyone. I would love to see you all the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo July 30th- August 2nd, which will include our three Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association sanctioned rodeos, and Xtreme Bulls. Jlo and I can’t wait to see you there!

Brooke Hudson

2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess Attendant

Hello everyone! My name is Brooke Hudson and I am your 2020 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess Attendant. I’m so honored and lucky to have the opportunity of a lifetime to promote the Fair & Rodeo! This is the first royalty title I have ever held and I’m so fortunate that it can be with Douglas County. I am 13 years old and currently attending Sierra Middle School as an 8th grader. My family and I live in Parker and you could say my household is busy with my mom, dad, older sister, two dogs, three cats, and two horses!

I have been going to the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo for as long as I can remember. From competing in the mutton bustin’ and Hometown Rodeo, this fair has always had a special place in my heart. I’ve had horses my whole life and got my first pony when I was two years old. Since then, my love for rodeo and horses has grown like crazy. I’m also very fortunate that my family is super supportive of my passion and it’s incredible what all they do for me!I could not be where I am today without them. My horses and I do many activities together including barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying. When I was younger, I used to show horses english and western, but since have always made barrel racing a priority.

My equine partners are the best I could ever ask for! Tiger is a 19-year-old American Quarter Horse I’ve owned for five years and he’s always ready for any adventure asked of him. PeeWee is a 22-year-old Palomino American Quarter Horse I’ve had for three years. You will see these two around at different events during fair. Other than horses, I do many other activities including one that surprises many people – golf! Since I was 7 years old, I’ve been golfing and now compete competitively around the country. Music is another passion of mine and I’m involved in the school's choir and play both the guitar and ukulele.

I’m am so excited to make many new memories and meet new people this year and hope to help grow the sport of rodeo to a whole new audience. I’m committed to promoting the Fair & Rodeo to the best of my abilities and am looking forward to seeing you and your family out at the 102nd Douglas County Fair & Rodeo July 30-August 2nd!
