2021 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Royalty

Rylee Bernier

2021 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Queen

Hello! My name is Rylee Bernier and I am honored to be the 2021 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Queen! This will be my second year representing Douglas County, as I was previously the 2020 Queen. I am 19 years old and reside in Castle Rock, Colorado with my parents Stephen and Heidi and my siblings, Raven, Mathew and Seth. I am currently attending Arapahoe Community College working towards a degree in marketing and animal science nutrition. With this degree, I hope to utilize my skills and education to build my own equine feed business. With my strong faith in God and support of family, I am confident that my dream will come true!

As a little girl, I have always dreamt of being a part of the Rodeo world and owning my own horse. In 2017, I was blessed to have found Kryptonite, my eleven-year old Off the Track Thoroughbred. As time went by, I have been able to turn him into my western horse and eventually a Rodeo Queen horse to partner with me at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo. As each day passes, Kryptonite and I continue to build our bond and work as a team.

Kryptonite and I are looking forward to the 103rd year of the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo. With 4-H exhibits, local events, and our exciting rodeo, it will surely be a great time for all!We hope you will join us this year, July 31st-August 8th. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Samantha Witt

2021 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess

Hey there! My name is Samantha Witt; I am honored and excited to serve as the 2021 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Princess. I am 17 years old and a junior at Castle View High School. I live with my parents Max and Becky Witt, along with my little brother Max and we live in Castle Rock with my three dogs and two cats. When my family and I have free time, besides riding horses, you can find us in the mountains riding dirt bikes on the trails. My dad, brother and I also like to archery and rifle hunt for big game in our beautiful mountains. I would like to thank my family for helping me pursue my passion for livestock as well as my passion for the outdoors. Their support is endless!

I have been a member of 4-H for 8 years, participating in horses, market sheep, rabbits, and market beef. In the horse project I have won Grand Champion english in my age group, Reserve Champion gymkhana and Grand Champion western pleasure. I also have shown market beef since 2017, this year my steer’s name is Berry. My favorite part of 4-H has been the leadership activities in my club where I have served as treasurer, Vice President, President and parliamentary.

My three horses are Fritz, a 10-year-old red dun quarter horse, Pi a 4-year-old chestnut quarter horse and Blue a 20-year-old palomino quarter horse. We participate in shows and events outside of 4-H, such as the Douglas County Buckle Series, where I won Grand Champion in 2018. We also show Parker Trail Riders and some open Reining and Working Ranch Horse Shows. Fritz is my rope horse, in team roping and break away. My other horse Blue is my speed event horse; he has placed me in several gymkhana events over the years. Pi is just a baby but she won me 2020 Grand Champion western pleasure. You can find all of us riding at numerous events in Colorado and of course at The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.

The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo has an extremely fun and action-packed year ahead, hoping COVID-19 won’t stand in our way. I am excited to be an ambassador for my hometown rodeo. There is something for everyone at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo, from bucking bulls to carnival games, and never a dull moment. Fritz, Blue, Pi and I cannot wait to see you at the 4-H exhibits and local events! See you there!
